OUR HISTORIC GARDEN
Did you know that our school was once a working farm and horticulture garden? Yep. It’s also one of the largest gardens in LAUSD with over 100 types of native plants, herbs, flowers, as well as natural wildlife right here on campus.

With an effort to preserve our history, the goal of our Garden Club is to help discover more about our natural ecosystem, promote an environmentally conscious mindset, and examine nature through a scientific lens. Our IB Learner-focused lessons are taught in partnership with our teachers and parent volunteers—it’s all funded by PTA.

Just after those April showers pass, PTA provides caterpillars for every classroom. Our students raise them until they’re mature enough to release among our lavender, milkweed, native sages, and Mexican marigolds.
